VANCOUVER, British Columbia – November 7, 2001 – ActiveState, the leader in open source programming language tools, today announced the addition of two new appointees to the Board. George Reznik, VP Finance Pivotal Corporation, joins the Board of Directors, providing broad experience in corporate finance. Mark Sochan, VP Business Development, SAP Portals, will contribute his extensive background in OEM and channel partner licensing to the Advisory Board.

At Pivotal, George is responsible for corporate finance including business planning, finance, and treasury management. Prior to Pivotal, George was with Deloitte and Touche, where he obtained extensive experience on international corporate finance, business valuation, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and restructuring projects.

Mark is responsible for OEM and technology partnerships for SAP Portals. Previously, he served as Director of Business Development at Seagate Software, where he managed OEM and channel partner licensing activities for Crystal Reports.

Increased Management Team
ActiveState has also broadened its management team. Frederick Fajardo, Director, Enterprise Product Management, comes to ActiveState from Ncompass Labs, where he was a Group Product Manager. Matt Herdon, Director, Product Management, Programming Tools, was previously at Rational, where he was responsible for the Rational Unified Process product line. Steve Schumacher, Director, Software Development, previously was an independent consultant, assisting companies with the delivery of highly technical software products for consumer and enterprise markets.
