ActiveState offers extended support for current and older versions of Python for Microsoft Windows, Linux and MacOS. For Python 3.6 and above, we provide ongoing support and security updates with Enterprise tier licensing. For older versions of Python 3, we provide access to our previously built ActivePython distributions, available at our Team tier and above.Learn more about our licensing options here.
While the Python 2 programming language reached End of Life (EOL) in January 2020 and is no longer supported by the open source community or Python Software Foundation (python.org), ActiveState provides exclusive support and security updates as part of our Enterprise licensing for Python 2.7.

Python 3 Versions
All usage of ActivePython for an Python project (whether machine learning, data science, APIs, tutorials, Django web app, etc) deployed beyond Python developer’s workstations requires commercial licensing. The table below outlines the level of built-in support we provide with commercial licensing for each version.
Maintained & Supported: Python package and dependency updates, as well as security updates for known security vulnerabilities (CVE’s) are provided on a regular basis. Available with Enterprise licensing.
Licensing Only: These versions have passed End of Life (EOL). As such, access to ActivePython is provided “as-is”, but these versions will no longer be updated.
