Pricing

Pricing for our Curated Catalog stays simple as your adoption grows

ActiveState makes pricing simple and transparent. Your team is placed in a tier based on organization size. Every language you license is priced at your tier level, so adding a language is a budget line item you can plan for.

Why this matters

The majority of modern applications contain unverified open source, and regulators are now turning that exposure into a board-level accountability question. Most vendors require a sales conversation before you see a real number. We publish ours. Company size sets your tier, every language in that tier costs the same rate, and the number doesn't move until your team grows.

How does ActiveState price the Curated Catalog?

ActiveState prices the Curated Catalog by company size and language, not by component count. Customers are placed into one of four tiers based on employee count (or developer count for the largest tier), and every language costs the same flat rate within that tier.

How much does ActiveState's Curated Catalog cost?

Curated Catalog pricing starts at $25,000 per language per year for companies under 100 employees, rising to $50,000 for 100–999 employees and $150,000 for 1,000+ employees. Large organizations can license the entire catalog, with pricing scoped at contract.

Why is Curated Catalog pricing set by tier and language, rather than by component count?

Tier-and-language pricing sets the number from two facts a customer already knows: company size and which languages they run. There's no usage estimate to make up front and no component count to reconcile at renewal. The price is set by decisions the customer controls directly

What counts as a language for Curated Catalog pricing?

Each of ActiveState's supported language ecosystems is licensed and priced individually at the customer's tier rate. A customer using three language ecosystems licenses and pays for three, regardless of which specific languages they are.

What happens when a CVE affects a component version outside ActiveState's active support window?

ActiveState actively supports every version of a component up to, but not including, that component's end-of-life release, with full CVE response and SLA coverage for the entire supported range. Once a version reaches end of life, continued support is available through a custom EOL support agreement; customers should talk to their ActiveState representative before that transition. Most language ecosystems publish EOL dates well ahead of time, often years in advance, so organizations typically have significant lead time to plan an upgrade before support ends.

Does ActiveState's Curated Catalog pricing change during the contract term?

No, ActiveState's per-language rate is fixed for the full contract term. The rate only changes at renewal, and only if the customer moves to a new size tier or adds languages.

Does ActiveState offer multi-year contract terms for the Curated Catalog?

Yes, ActiveState offers discounted multi-year agreements at every pricing tier for the Curated Catalog.

What support level does ActiveState include with Curated Catalog?

ActiveState includes the same support level across every Curated Catalog tier, with no tier-gated support features. Every component in the catalog carries an active CVE remediation SLA of 5 days for critical vulnerabilities, 10 days for high, and 30 days for all others. Curated Catalog customers receive a named account contact and account team from onboarding through renewal, structured onboarding that integrates components into existing package managers, pipelines, and repositories, and ongoing access to the ActiveState Portal for catalog visibility, automatic SBOMs, and version tracking. Components requiring maintenance outside the standard support window are available through special component maintenance, priced as custom work.

Does Curated Catalog pricing apply to ActiveState Platform Enterprise or Business Tier License Subscriptions or affect my existing contract?

No. The Curated Catalog pricing model does not apply to existing ActiveState Platform Enterprise or Business Tier license subscriptions. Legacy platform licensing agreements are unaffected, and current customers continue under their existing contract terms through the end of their term.
